In some cases, a Sierra / Infinity indicator may be not showing up on the screen. It may even partially show itself on the chart, appearing in a chart sub-panel without anything but a title. If this happens, it’s possible that the indicator is not authenticating properly, meaning that the licensing database hasn’t properly registered your username.
One way to confirm that this is the problem is by looking at Sierra’s Message Log. You can open the message log via the Window menu and assuring a check mark appears before Message Log. In the log, you may see a message that states the problem. For example, it might show the following, which shows that you’re not authorized to run the indicator.
This can happen sometimes because the username that’s entered on the BCT Indicator download page isn’t the full username. You may log in as, “John”, but the actual username might be “Transact_user_John”, or something similar.
To find out what your “full” username is, you can find it under Sierra’s Help/About menu. The dialog will list Account Name: and show you the full account name. Copy that exactly, and then use that on the BCT Indicator download page to enter where it asks for “SerraChart Username”. Then try the indicator to see if it works properly. You may have to log out of Sierra and back in again to have the change recognized. If this doesn’t resolve the issue, then you may want to contact support for assistance.
