My Sierra indicator says it’s not authorized, and I use Infinity / Transact for my data. Why won’t it authorize?..

If you’re using Transact for your Sierra data feed, you’ll need to use a special version of your username when entering your Sierra username on the BCT indicator download page. You use whatever your login name is, preceded by TransAct_User_ . Please use the same upper/lower case spelling as well.

So, for example, if your login name is Smith, you would enter your username as TransAct_User_Smith

Why does this happen? We’re not sure why some users in Sierra have their username modified when using Transact, though it appears that many Infinity users have this username configuration. If you don’t precede it with the extra part above, the indicator won’t be recognized as authorized. This may appear that the indicator isn’t working, but if you look in the Sierra Message Log (under the Windows menu), you might see a message indicating that you are not authorized to run the indicator.

To determine whether you need to enter these extra characters, in Sierra, click on the Help/About menu, and it will show you your Account name. The username that’s shown there is how you need to enter it on the BCT Indicator Download page. Make sure you enter it exactly, and it IS case-sensitive.
